Bike ride through the border area between Aardenburg (NL) and Maldegem (BE) as part of 80 years of the liberation of Zeelandic Flanders
Led by a guide, we cross the border area between Aardenburg (NL) and Maldegem (BE) where, along the Leopold Canal and in the villages, the battle between the Canadians and Germans took place during World War II. In this area, inundations took place, bunkers were built and inhabitants were forced to evacuate.
Starting point of the bicycle tour is on the north side of the Sint Baafskerk, Sint Bavostraat 5, in Aardenburg.
Participation is free of charge. Refreshments are at your own expense.
Registration, stating the name of the event and the number of people, can be done by sending an e-mail to gidsengilde@cultuurforumaardenburg.nl.
