By the end of October, the whole province of Antwerp had been liberated. But the war continued. Antwerp and its port became the logistics centre of the Allied forces. This made the city a prime target for the German army. From Germany and the northern Netherlands, the Germans bombarded the Antwerp region with V-bombs - a precursor of the rocket. Everywhere those unmanned aircraft full of explosives crashed, it caused death and destruction. But in Kalmthout, American soldiers put a stop to that!
