Memorium Nürnberg Trials

Today, the Memorium Nuremberg Trials is an information and documentation centre in the location where world history took place. It was in the historic Courtroom 600 of the Nuremberg Palace of Justice, where leaders of the Nazi regime had to answer for their crimes before the International Military Tribunal between November 20, 1945 and October 1, 1946.

The trials had an enormous influence on the development of international criminal law to the this day. The Memorium Nuremberg Trials is located on the top floor of the courthouse. It provides insights on the defendants and their crimes, the Subsequent Nuremberg Trials between 1946 and 1949, and the impact of the Nuremberg Trials until today.

The historical site has changed significantly due to its diverse construction history. The media installation "Zeitreise Saal 600 | Courtroom 600: Time Travel" takes visitors back almost 80 years to the historic event of the Nuremberg Trials and lets them experience Courtroom 600 in a new way. It connects original footage of the Nuremberg Trials with a digital reconstruction of Courtroom 600, showcasing it in a completely new way at the time of the Nuremberg Trials.

Extensive technology allows a play between the digital reconstruction of the room, the historical film and photographic material as well as a visual world that makes the room's impact on the world's historical development understandable and emphasises the importance of international law to this day.

The media installation can be seen as part of the permanent exhibition. The Memorium also offers educational programs, as well as public and private guided tours.
