On this evening, the Freedom Museum will reflect on the events that took place in Germany on the night of 9-10 November 1938.

Main guest of this evening is Frits Barend, born in 1947 to a Jewish family and known as a journalist, television and radio presenter, columnist and publisher. After an introduction and welcome by director and historian Wiel Lenders, Barend will tell the story of himself and his family during and after World War II. He will include subjects about his childhood, sports during the war, freedom of thinking, going into hiding, the resistance, raids, Auschwitz, Yad Vashem, speaking about the war and his connection with the past. On this evening, Barend's story will be interspersed with some meaningful musical interludes by violinist Anneke Frankenberg.
