A documentary play about the extraordinary life of Nadezhda Slessareva - a woman who survived two dictatorships, endured persecution, exile and forced labor and yet never lost her courage. Born in the Ukraine, she witnessed immeasurable suffering: the murder of family members and fellow Jews. But despite all the adversity, her life path led her to a successful career as an engineer and tireless peace work, for which she was honored with a Ukrainian award and the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
The play tells of her struggle for survival, the power of solidarity and unshakeable hope. It brings a moving chapter of contemporary history to the stage - a memorial against forgetting and a plea for humanity.
The performance will take place in the presence of her family, as Nadezhda Slessareva passed away in December. But her legacy remains.
