As part of the 79th anniversary of the liberation of the Rijk van Nijmegen during Operation Market Garden in September 1944, the Freedom Museum is organising a lively Freedom Market on 24 September. There is lots to do and experience for young and old!
To see and do:
Free Market: take your place with your rug around the Freedom Museum and sell your goodies. You may also perform with theatre or music yourself.
Live music performances by the Bill Baker's Big Band.
Visit the exhibition Double Spy.
Various children's activities: including Freedom Skirts crafts and pavement chalk drawings.
Living Statues of Freedom.
Radio show with transmitting equipment from WW2.
Highlight tours (45 min) through the permanent exhibition for adults and children.
Activities around current events in Ukraine: visit the Ukrainian ambulance, the Russian tank and the badly damaged nameplate of Bakhmut Train Station 1.
Have your picture taken in the time of the past and take a seat in front of the Green Screen.
Second-hand books WW2 for sale.
Exciting fieldtrips by Grateful Generation Tours in an authentic WW2 Willy's MB (2 to 3 people) along the battlefields of Market Garden.
