Joséphine Baker, free and committed

In partnership with Paris-Match, in tribute to Joséphine Baker, a free and committed woman, the City of Caen is presenting an original exhibition retracing the life of the artist.

Militant, daring, resistant and mother of a large family, Joséphine Baker is one of the great personalities of the 20th century, both in France and abroad.

This exhibition, presented in the historic setting of the Abbaye aux Hommes, gives visitors a chance to (re)discover this woman and her exemplary career, right up to the point of her pantheonisation.
