On Sunday, August 27, a special ritual of remembrance will take place in Veghel. Near the former train station of Veghel, more than 20 Jewish Veghel people who were deported from this community during the Second World War will be remembered. Together, a temporary monument will be made at the site of the former train station.

Nameplates
Participants in this memorial take care of one of the victims and make a nameplate for him or her at home and a memorial page on the Names and Numbers website. The name plates are used in the memorial ritual. Participants eventually place the nameplate on a large map. Thus, the local residents of the time are symbolically brought back home. Because, the organization points out: they belong to us and this painful part of our history.
