Memorial Monument
In the park between Regelinkstraat and Kerkstraat stands a memorial monument. It depicts a kneeling male figure breaking free from his shackles.
Embedded in the pedestal is a lead tube containing a parchment with the names of 56 victims from Hengelo, including 32 Jewish individuals. Unfortunately, the list was compiled with some carelessness. Several of those named were neither living in Hengelo at the time of their death nor did they die there.
